Vocal ensemble Ascending consists of Ronald Kuilman (tenor), Ton Debets (bass) and Marsja Mudde (soprano) and focusses on music from early renaissance. Currently they bring a programme on the worship of Maria in England and France, around the Old Hall Manuscript, as well as a programme on Anxieta's music, a wellknown spanisch composer at his time, but now often forgotten. For the latter programme, the trio has asked Paul Smit to join them on his trombone, which beautifully matches their voices.

In 2006, the ensemble had two fringeconcerts in the Utrecht Early Music Festival. Several early music stages have shown interest in the ensemble and they have given concerts all over the Netherlands.
